The Launceston Improvised Music Association, or LIMA for short, are putting on a casual jam session inside the Sam Jinks Mortal Reflections exhibit at the Queen Victoria Art Gallery in Royal Park. They will have instruments ready so you can chip in with your voice or whatever takes your fancy, all riffing off QVMAGs latest grab, the Eternal Return sculpture.

Picture this a whopping orb-weaving spider pulled straight from the museums natural science archives, and you get to poke it with sound waves to see what happens. Might just wake the thing up in a musical way. Its free, no bookings, pure drop-in vibes on Saturday 17 January 2026 from 1pm to 3:30pm at 2 Wellington Street, Launceston.
