The Albert Hall in Launceston has had a recent facelift, making it the perfect spot to catch the Opening Night Gala for the 2026 Australian Musical Theatre Festival on Wednesday 20 May at 9pm. Its at 47 Tamar Street, corner of Tamar and Cimitiere. Over an hour youll see festival guests perform, mix with whoever turns up, and raise a glass to five days of tunes, tales, and the usual theatre chaos that somehow works.

Tickets run 40 dollars full price, 30 concession, or 20 for fulltime students, so its not breaking the bank to dip your toe in.
