Fancy lending a hand to Carr Villa Flora Reserve without spending a dime. The Australian Plant Society of Tasmania, teaming up with the City of Launceston and Tamar NRM, are hosting a working bee to stop weeds from throwing their usual takeover party and help native species make a comeback in this surprisingly diverse bushland pocket. APST doubles as a LandCare Tas group, so its basically locals keeping their backyard wilderness in check.

Swing by on Thursday 8 January 2026 from 1pm to 3pm at the Opossum Road Gate entrance in Norwood, postcode 7249. Opossum Road sounds like it could host its own wildlife soap opera, but youll be too busy pulling weeds to notice.
