Curators in the Pub 2025 is apparently set to uncover some of Launceston's more colourful history. The QVMAG history team will be delving into the less respectable aspects of the past, focusing on things like love, lust, and all the local scandals you might not find in your average history book. We are talking bribes, brothels, and the sorts of back alley deals that made certain parts of town rather interesting.

They will be lifting the lid on some genuinely eyebrow raising activities and the savvy characters who got up to them. If you are keen to hear about Launceston's history with a bit more grit and gossip, this could be right up your alley. It is a free event, but you will need to register beforehand via Eventbrite to secure your spot. It is happening on Wednesday, 20 August 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Du Cane Brewery & Dining Hall, 64 Elizabeth Street, Launceston.
