Multi disciplinary artist and educator David Hamilton talks about where memory, material and place collide in his work. He'll reflect on the fragments and artefacts that have steered his practice, from small studio pieces to large public commissions around Tasmania, and unpack the materials, stories and environmental concerns that nudge his sculptures into being. If you have ever wondered what a rusty bolt, a childhood memory and a gust off the Tamar River might all have in common, this is the sort of conversation that will try to answer that question without getting too solemn about it.

The conversation happens at the Queen Victoria Museum at Inveresk alongside the exhibition Fragments and Artefacts: David Hamilton. The event is free and open to the public; registration is available on Eventbrite.
