Wander the gardens at Inveresk before diving into the slightly macabre art of pinning and preserving insects, and find out why these museum bugs on sticks are quietly crucial for research, conservation and keeping biodiversity from going belly up.

At the Museum at Inveresk, QVMAGs Curator of Natural Science, Dr Alfonsina Arriaga Jimnez, will shepherd you through a hands on insect pinning session, spilling the beans on entomology and what makes museum collections tick. Its aimed at kids aged eight to 14, with parents in tow to stop any accidental bug rebellions.
