Get ready to get your hands all woolly and warm this winter with a delightful weaving workshop at the Museum at Inveresk, inspired by the Tassie Tea Party exhibition. We'll kick things off with a guided tour of the Tassie Tea Party, where you can marvel at some truly remarkable dioramas crafted by the talented folks at the Handweavers, Dyers and Spinners Guild of Tasmania. After soaking in all that creativity, we'll make our way to the Learning Centre to dive into the world of weaving where you'll learn to create your own snazzy woven mandalas and those nifty oho de dios creations. Yes, that's a thing and no, you don't need to know how to pronounce it to have fun.

This workshop is a fab opportunity for kiddos aged 5 to 12 to give weaving a go, and feel free to tag along, parents. So, bring your little artists, roll up your sleeves, and prepare to turn those cold winter blues into colourful woven masterpieces. For a small fee of $7.51, you'll be making something you can actually brag about. Just hop onto Eventbrite to snag your spot. The fun happens on Tuesday, 08 July 2025, with two sessions to choose from: one in the morning and another post-lunch when the sugar highs kick in. Grab your creative caps and we'll see you there at the Queen Victoria Museum at Inveresk!
