Birth of Planet Earth takes you through the chaotic backstory of our home planet, which kicked off about four and a half billion years ago. Turns out, our galaxy is lousy with planetary systems, including ones with worlds about our size, so Earth is not as special as it likes to think. The big puzzle is the Moon, which scientists reckon popped into existence thanks to a massive smash-up, replayed in gritty detail across the planetarium dome.
The show ponders how our rock turned from a battered survivor of the solar systems wild early days into a place teeming with life, and what that messy history means for spotting truly Earth-like spots elsewhere. Tickets are adult at 10.67 dollars, child at 7.51 dollars. It is on Saturday, 10 January 2026 from 1.30 pm to 2.15 pm at Queen Victoria Museum at Inveresk, 2 Invermay Road, Invermay, 7248, Australia.
