Earth kicked off its existence about four and a half billion years ago, and these days boffins reckon our galaxy is chockers with planetary setups, some with worlds about our size floating around. Makes you wonder if we're just one of many cosmic accidents, doesn't it.

One of the big head-scratchers is the Moon's origin story, with the leading theory pointing to a massive smash-up that flung debris into orbit, all played out in vivid detail on the planetarium's dome like a blockbuster disaster flick. The presentation dives into how our rocky ball turned from a chaotic newborn in the Solar System's rough neighbourhood into a buzzing hub of life, and what that wild past might mean for spotting other Earth doppelgangers out there in the void.
