Black holes are among the oddest beasts in the universe, basically spots in space where gravity is so intense that even light gets stuck. Scientists like Einstein pondered them way back when, long before we snapped proof they exist, and get this, theres a monster one lurking right in the heart of our Milky Way galaxy.
This session from the Melbourne Planetarium breaks down what black holes truly are, how they come to be, and the trippy physics behind their space and time bending tricks. Theyll even simulate what happens if you blunder too close, which involves turning into cosmic spaghetti, not something to try on a whim. Tickets are adult at 10.67 dollars, child at 7.51 dollars. Its on Thursday 16 April 2026 from 1pm to 1:45pm at Queen Victoria Museum at Inveresk, 2 Invermay Road, Invermay, 7248 Australia.
