Come along to the Launceston Planetarium on Friday, 19 December 2025, for a laid-back screening of Black Holes, running from 1pm to 1:45pm at the Queen Victoria Museum in Inveresk, 2 Invermay Road. Tickets are $10.67 for adults and $7.51 for kids, produced by the folks at Melbourne Planetarium.

Ever wonder about those cosmic vacuum cleaners called black holes, where not even light can hitch a ride out? Scientists like Einstein dreamed them up ages ago, and sure enough, they are real, with a massive one lurking right in the middle of our Milky Way. The show covers how they form, the mind-bending way they warp space and time, and what happens if you get too chummy with one, which, spoiler, is not a recommended holiday plan.
