The Launceston Planetarium is running Capcom Go as part of their nod to the 50th anniversary of those first human footprints on the Moon. It takes you through NASAs early days in the 1960s when they kicked off human spaceflights by flinging the first Yank into orbit, then methodically stacking up skills until they pulled off that epic July 1969 lunar touchdown. Think of it as a laidback history lesson on how they went from baby steps in space to giant leaps, without the zero-gravity nausea.

The name comes from Capcom, shorthand for Capsule Communicator, the one mission control bod who had exclusive chit-chat rights with the astronauts while the rest of the team twiddled thumbs. Tickets are adult at 10.67 dollars and child at 7.51 dollars. It is on Wednesday 11 February 2026 from 1pm to 1.45pm at the Queen Victoria Museum at Inveresk on 2 Invermay Road in Invermay postcode 7248.
