Join us at the Launceston Planetarium as we take a stroll down memory lane to celebrate the 50th anniversary of those iconic lunar footprints. The show, Capcom Go, will give you the lowdown on how NASA kicked off its human spaceflight antics back in the swinging sixties. Picture this: the first American to boldly go where no American had gone before, paving the way for that legendary moon landing in July 1969. Who knew all it took was a bit of trial and error, along with some serious rocket science?

Now, about the name Capcom Go. It's actually a cheeky nod to the mission control whiz who had the esteemed title of Capcom—or Capsule Communicator, for those who prefer full sentences. This person was the go-to for astronauts, chatting with them while they were out there doing their cosmic thing. So come along and enjoy a slice of space history with us. It's a bit of history that's more entertaining than your average family dinner, and we promise the snacks won't require you to wear a space suit.
