In a nod to humanity's giant leap fifty years ago, the Launceston Planetarium is rolling out the star-studded show Capcom Go. You might remember Apollo 11 back in '69 when Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first two blokes to take a stroll on the Moon—a place not known for its choice of trendy cafés. The historic moonwalk, which took place on 21 July (let's not get too pedantic about time zones), is almost as important as discovering the best way to cook a meat pie!

This show takes you through NASA's epic journey, starting in the early 1960s when they decided to send a few brave souls into the great beyond. It was a gradual climb to glory as they honed their skills before making that monumental July 1969 lunar landing. So, whether you're a space nerd or just someone who enjoys the occasional life lesson from history, swing by for this stellar experience. Tickets are a snip at $9.62 for adults and $7.51 for kids, so bring the family and maybe some popcorn if you're feeling cheeky. It's happening on Thursday, 14 November 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Queen Victoria Museum at Inveresk.
