The Launceston Planetarium is dusting off its stars for Capcom Go, a cheeky nod to the 50th anniversary of those giant leaps on the Moon, even if we're a bit late to the party. Picture this: back in 1969, NASA kicked off its human space adventures by flinging the first Yank into orbit in the swinging 60s, slowly ramping up the skills until Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin took that famous stroll on 21 July, Australian time. The show spills the beans on how it all unfolded, from shaky early flights to that epic lunar touchdown, without getting too bogged down in the techy bits.
After the main event, there's a live peek at whatever the night sky's serving up that evening, because why stop at history when you can eyeball the real deal. It's on Wednesday, 12 November 2025, from 2:30 pm to 3:15 pm at the Queen Victoria Museum in Inveresk, 2 Invermay Road, Invermay, 7248. Tickets run $10.67 for adults and $7.51 for kids, so it's a low-stakes way to pretend you're an astronaut for an hour.
