Astronomers these days are eyeballing the universe on a massive scale, but the real fun starts when they try piecing it all together like a cosmic jigsaw with half the bits missing. Narrated by Geoffrey Rush, the Oscar-winning Aussie who could make reading the phone book sound epic, this show dives into the latest stargazing antics under those clear outback skies. One minute youre pondering whats out there, the next youre wondering what fresh mysteries the cosmos is hiding up its sleeve.
Its a team effort from Melbourne Planetarium and the ARC Centre of Excellence for All-Sky Astrophysics, or CAASTRO for short, which ropes in seven universities across Australia to probe the skies in ways thatd make old-school astronomers blink. Catch it on Friday 17 April 2026 from 1pm to 1.45pm at the Queen Victoria Museum at Inveresk, 2 Invermay Road, Invermay, 7248. Tickets run to 10.67 dollars for adults and 7.51 for kids.
