Astronomers these days are peering into the vastness of the universe like kids rummaging through a cosmic junk drawer, figuring out what's hiding in all that space. But piecing it together to crack the big mysteries is where the real fun begins, or at least that's what the experts say. Narrated by the acclaimed Geoffrey Rush, whose voice could probably make a black hole sound intriguing, this show takes you on a tour of the latest stargazing antics under Australia's wide open skies. Who knows, maybe we'll stumble upon some fresh cosmic secrets along the way.
Produced by the Melbourne Planetarium teaming up with the ARC Centre of Excellence for All-Sky Astrophysics, a group of seven Aussie universities, Capturing the Cosmos dives into the cutting-edge work of these astronomers as they scan the heavens in ways that would have blown minds a decade ago. Tickets go for adult at $10.67 and child at $7.51. It happens on Friday, 14 November 2025, from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Queen Victoria Museum at Inveresk, 2 Invermay Road, Invermay, 7248, Australia.
