Head to the Launceston Planetarium for Dark Side of Light, a show thats got a cheeky take on light pollution. You know, that sneaky issue where weve all gotten too cosy flipping on artificial lights after sunset, treating them like old mates. Turns out, its throwing a spanner in the works for plants and animals whove been perfectly tuned to the daily sunrise sunset rhythm for millions of years, not to mention our own sleepy biorhythms that prefer natural cues over neon glows.

The session uncovers whats really going on with light pollution and shares some practical steps we can all take to ease off the brightness. Tickets are adult at 10.67 dollars and child at 7.51 dollars. Its on Saturday 20 December 2025 from 1.30 pm to 2.15 pm at Queen Victoria Museum at Inveresk, 2 Invermay Road, Invermay, 7248.
