If youre around Launceston in November 2025 and fancy a quick trip back to when humans started fiddling with rockets, theres a planetarium show called Dawn of the Space Age at the Queen Victoria Museum in Inveresk. It covers the space timeline from Sputnik beeping its way into orbit in 1957, through those cheeky moon walks where astronauts bounced around like they were on a trampoline, all the way to building massive space hotels like the International Space Station and even private blokes launching their own joyrides to the stars. Its basically a laidback history lesson on our clumsy first stumbles into the cosmos, without any of the real zero-gravity nausea.
The shows on for about 45 minutes on Sunday 9 November 2025, kicking off at 1:30 pm sharp at 2 Invermay Road in Invermay, postcode 7248. Tickets are a steal at 10.67 bucks for adults and 7.51 for kids, so no excuses for missing out on reliving the days when space travel sounded like science fiction but turned out to be just humans being nosy.
