Ever wondered why humans have been staring at the stars and spinning yarns about them since forever, from campfire tales to Greek philosophers scratching their heads over the cosmos. It's like our species' longest-running group project, trying to figure out where we fit in this massive universe, and honestly, we've only just started getting the memo in the last century or so with our fancy telescopes and all.

This From Earth to the Universe show at the Launceston Planetarium takes you on a breezy 30-minute trip through space and time, mixing up the old myths with today's science to show off the solar system's wonders and that fiery ball we call the Sun. It's on Thursday, 13 November 2025, from 2:30 pm to 3:15 pm at the Queen Victoria Museum in Inveresk, 2 Invermay Road, Invermay, 7248. Tickets are $10.67 for adults and $7.51 for kids.
