Head to the Launceston Planetarium for a screening of Ng? Tohunga Whakatere - The Navigators, where young Moko takes off across the Pacific Ocean, chasing her ancestors star paths back to Aotearoa New Zealand. Shes the sort of teen whod rather navigate by stars than Google Maps, hopping through time to hang out on the waka hourua of her M?ori forebears, or peek at the decks of Lieutenant James Cooks English ship and Abel Tasmans Dutch vessel.

From there she gets an orbital eyeball of Earth, chats up the old navigators about their customs and knowhow, and ties it neatly into modern space facts. Stick around after for a live guided tour of whatever the night sky is dishing up that evening. Tickets run at adult $10.67 or child $7.51.
