The Launceston Planetarium is putting on Secret of the Cardboard Rocket on Tuesday 16 December 2025 from 1pm to 1.45pm. Some kids cobble together a rocket from cardboard scraps and next thing you know theyre cruising the Solar System. Their library astronomy book springs to life like an overenthusiastic tour guide pointing out all the planets along the way.

After the show wraps up theres a live look at whatever the night sky has on offer that evening. Tickets run $10.67 for adults and $7.51 for children at the Queen Victoria Museum at Inveresk on 2 Invermay Road in Invermay.
