Guess who's off to Mars. None other than Tycho, that cheeky canine known for his knack for mischief, who is finally blasting off to discover the Red Planet. This animated flick, Tycho Goes to Mars, is perfect for a bit of family fun under the planetarium dome. While Tycho is busy with his antics, you'll also get the lowdown on Mars's major features, like the whopping ancient volcano Olympus Mons and the vast canyons of the Valles Marineris.
Tycho's got a bit of a sticky wicket though. He needs water to fly his steam powered space kennel back home, but Mars looks drier than a dusty old boot. Luckily, he bumps into a new friend, Oppy, who is all too eager to help. Oppy, the NASA rover Opportunity, has plenty of experience exploring Mars and hunting for water. She's chuffed to share her knowledge of the Red Planet with a fellow space explorer. If you fancy catching this Martian adventure, tickets are ten dollars and sixty seven cents for adults and seven dollars and fifty one cents for kids. It's happening on Thursday, 31 July 2025, from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Queen Victoria Museum at Inveresk, located at 2 Invermay Road, Invermay.
