The Launceston Planetarium is putting on "We Are Stars" in July. This full-dome production comes from NSC Creative in the UK, the same mob who gave us the popular "We Are Aliens" show. It's a bit of a chuckle at how stars go about their fiery business, cooking up all the elements that make up, well, everything. Turns out, most of the stuff in us and around us was once deep inside a star. So, yes, you are literally made of stardust, no humble bragging required.

Beyond the existential revelations, "We Are Stars" chucks in a few other interesting facts about our cosmic neighbours. Once the main show wraps up, stick around for a live tour of what's hanging out in the actual night sky at the moment. If you are keen, it's happening on Wednesday, 23 July 2025, from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Queen Victoria Museum at Inveresk, 2 Invermay Road, Invermay. A ticket for an adult is $10.67, and for a kid it's $7.51.
