Join the ukulele extravaganza with Cameron Murray, a regular staple on Australia's ukulele circuit. Think George Formby with a modern twist: he strums, he sings, and he might even charm the socks off you with his original tunes and jazz standards from the roaring 1920s and 30s. Cameron doesn't just play the ukulele; he's the kind of guy who plays nice with it, being all buddy-buddy with Romero Creations Ukuleles across the pond in California. And if that's not enough, he's the brain behind KAMUKE Ukulele Magazine and hosts the podcast Ukulele Stories, which is a snappy little listen for all things ukulele.

During the workshop, Cameron will roll out a buffet of ukulele knowledge that caters to all talents, from seasoned strummers to those just trying to figure out which end of the uke to hold. Expect to learn some fancy strumming patterns that could give Formby a run for his money, along with basic picking techniques that you can sneak into almost any tune. He'll also throw in a few performances to illustrate his moves and drop some nuggets of wisdom about strutting your stuff in front of an audience without turning into a nervous noodle. You might even walk away feeling like a ukulele rock star – or at least a very relaxed one.

Admission is a cool $20 for a seat at this string-plucking soirée. So mark your calendar for Saturday, March 22nd, 2025, at 1:40 PM and make your way to the Pilgrim Uniting Church Hall at 34 Paterson St, Launceston TAS 7250.
