Pop down to the QVMAG Art Gallery at Royal Park for a laidback craft session over the school holidays, where you can sneak a peek at Helen Wrights Shapeshifting exhibition for a spark of genius before shuffling over to the Creativity Centre. Patch together your own quirky creation from the recycled odds and ends theyve got on hand, and cart it home as proof of your inner artist. Go solo if youre a lone wolf type, or rope in other visitors to build something absurdly oversized that no one quite knows what it is.

Its all free under the Make it Place banner, aimed at families but open to anyone with a pulse and a vague interest in crafting. No bookings needed, just rock up on Wednesday 21 January 2026 between 10:30am and midday at 2 Wellington Street, Launceston. Bring your imagination, leave the rubbish behind.
