Get ready for a cracking good time exploring the musical genius of the Gershwin brothers, George and Ira. These chaps practically invented half the tunes that still get stuck in your head. Chris McKenna, the familiar face from Music in the Mornings, will be your guide, no doubt sharing a few yarns about their prodigious output. He'll be joined by William Schmidt, who knows his way around a piano, and international soprano Alison Jones, who can probably hit notes you didn't even know existed.

Expect to hear a stack of their timeless tunes, like Summertime, Someone to Watch Over Me, and Rhapsody in Blue. And yes, they'll probably do I Got Rhythm too, because why not. There will be other bangers, obviously, but we can't list them all, or it wouldn't be a surprise. This delightful musical shindig is part of Theatre North's Music in the Mornings series, which is pretty much guaranteed to put a smile on your dial. It's all happening at the Princess Theatre in Launceston on Thursday 25 September 2025, kicking off at 11am, and it'll set you back twenty two dollars.
