Scammers are getting cleverer, and in 2024 Tasmanians reported losing more than $5,000,000 to them, with over 65 percent of the losses coming from the state's most vulnerable. If you've ever had a suspicious message, a dodgy call, or know someone who's been caught out, there's a straightforward, no-nonsense information session on scams. Consumer, Building and Occupational Services and Libraries Tasmania will explain the common types of scams, the telltale signs to watch for, and practical steps to take if you or someone you know has been targeted.
