School Holiday Program: Make an umbira at Launceston Library

Fancy making a musical instrument from things you can find lying around the house? Come to Launceston Library during the school holidays and craft an umbira, the African thumb piano, using everyday bits and bobs. Suitable for ages 8 to 12, it's a hands-on session where kids can make, pluck and have a bit of noisy fun before taking their new instrument home.

Parents and carers are asked to stay with their children for the session and are encouraged to join in. Parents and carers are responsible for the behaviour of attendees at all times. The session is free but registration is required.
