Lynette Ross will be sharing some tales about a grand old residence called the Government Cottage. It used to sit right where the south eastern corner of City Park is now, apparently housing the colonial movers and shakers of early Launceston. If you are ever wondered what the fancy folks were up to back then, this might just scratch that historical itch.

Her research is not just about the building itself, mind you. Expect a good yarn that peels back the layers on life in Van Diemen's Land, and then Tasmania, during those formative years. It sounds like a chance to find out what went on behind the polished doors of the past without having to pay a cent, though you will need to book your spot.
