15 year old Christopher John Francis Boone is an extraordinary thinker. He is exceptional at maths and observes things that nobody else sees, but every day life is a little trickier. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of the street, he detests being touched and he is wary of strangers.

Now Christopher is in the front yard of his house, it is seven minutes to midnight and Mrs Shears dog, Wellington, is lying dead at his feet, killed with a garden fork. Christopher fears that he will be the chief suspect. So who can solve the mystery? Nobody but Christorpher and what he uncovers takes him on a journey that even he could not have predicted.

The play is Christopher's account of his own investigation, and the story seen through his own eyes.
