Take a stroll into the imaginative world of Launceston artist Manuela Pilz as she takes you on a creative journey inspired by the enigmatic eyes of the animals in Michael McWilliams' paintings. In this first workshop of a quirky series, you'll dive into the soulful stares of the critters that populate McWilliams' vibrant landscapes. It's a bit like a staring contest, but with a lot more artistic flair—don't worry, no one's keeping score.
Picture this: wildlife—the local league of kangaroos, wallabies, and the odd exotic species—seem to have some deep thoughts bubbling beneath those piercing eyes. Are they giving you the side-eye for your environmental habits? Curiously judging your choice of breakfast? Or just silently soaking up the human spectacle? Their expressions are a fine blend of cheeky curiosity and a gentle nudge about our role in the changing world around us. Join a bunch of mates for some artistic fun, and maybe leave with a new furry friend of your own—well, in spirit at least.
