If you are wondering what is on in Launceston on a Saturday arvo in August, the Art Gallery at Royal Park has a new series brewing called Three Spotlights. It is a live music program set right inside the Sam Jinks || Mortal Reflections exhibition, where acclaimed musicians respond to Jinks' hyperreal sculptures. It is meant to be an evolving, multisensory experience for your ears and eyeballs.

The first session kicks off on Saturday 9 August with Ian Chia, who will be around from 1pm to 4pm. He will be performing ambient, neo romantic soundscapes on keyboards. As a composer and producer, Ian's work is known for evoking a bit of emotional resonance, which sounds like a rather fitting sonic backdrop for those vulnerable forms in Jinks' sculptural world. It is a completely free drop in event at the Gallery, so no need to register or anything like that. Just pop on down.
