Carmel Dean, an Aussie theatre maker, is bringing her new musical to kick off the 2026 Australian Musical Theatre Festival in Launceston. Its a breezy 75 minute piece with a solid cast backed by a live band, spinning yarns about women who bent history to their will, from concert stages and protest lines to boardrooms and battlefields. Think personal wins and big cultural shifts, all set to song, because apparently well behaved women seldom make history, but these ones did.

It runs Wednesday 20 May 2026 at 7pm and Thursday 21 May 2026 at 7pm, at Albert Hall on the corner of Tamar and Cimitiere streets, 47 Tamar St, Launceston TAS 7250. Tickets are full price at 55 bucks, concession 45 bucks, and full time students 25 bucks.
