On Tuesday the 11th of August 2026 at 11 in the morning, the Albert Hall in Launceston will host a show called Oh, What a Beautiful Morning. It is a celebration of three blokes who between them wrote more hummable tunes than a jukebox on a sugar rush: Richard Rodgers, Oscar Hammerstein II and Lorenz Hart. The performers are Ian Stenlake, Michelle Fitzmaurice and pianist Kym Dillon, the same trio who recently finished a tour of Frankly Sinatra and apparently decided they hadn't had enough of standing ovations. They will run through a stack of beloved songs from the Rodgers and Hammerstein and Rodgers and Hart catalogues, which means you can expect plenty of chances to quietly sing along and pretend you know all the words.

Tickets are a very reasonable twenty two dollars for a single admission. The venue is at the corner of Tamar and Cimitiere Streets in Launceston, Tasmania. If you have ever wondered what happens when three talented people get together to honour three other talented people who are no longer with us, this is your chance to find out without having to sit through a lecture. Just show up, listen, and try not to tap your foot too loudly.
